Unlike traditional salons, we do not offer basic partial or full highlights. Every guest receives a fully customized highlight experience tailored to their hair, desired results, maintenance goals, and lifestyle.

New Guest Highlight Services

When visiting Michael Richard Salon for the first time, you will be considered a New Guest, and your highlight appointment will be booked as a New Highlight Service.

Your first appointment allows your stylist the time needed to evaluate your current color, hair history, condition, inspiration photos, and desired result. From there, we create a customized highlighting plan specifically for you.

Highlight Maintenance & Retouch Appointments

Once we create your customized highlight look, maintaining it becomes easier—and your pricing can change based on how consistently you return.

If you return to Michael Richard Salon within 15 weeks of your initial highlight service, your appointment may be considered a Highlight Maintenance or Retouch Service rather than a new highlight service.

This maintenance schedule can impact your service pricing because we are refreshing and maintaining the customized work we’ve already created rather than starting over.

We also offer specific maintenance options for guests returning around 6 weeks and 12 weeks, allowing us to refresh brightness, dimension, tone, and placement while keeping your color looking intentional between larger appointments.

If you wait 15 weeks or longer, additional highlighting, product, time, or corrective work may be needed, and your appointment may no longer qualify for maintenance pricing.
